The Data Science Conference started out as Rice campus meet up for faculty to discuss and collaborate around Data Science research and ideas.   We quickly realized there was broad interest from industry wanting to engage as well.  In 2017 the Rice Data Conference was born.  It is now an annual event held each October at Rice University.
